Purple Rain

April 21st, 2010

Although I am not referencing Prince’s movie in any way, I thought it was the most appropriate title. To set the stage for you- it is raining, and I am wearing purple. A lot of you probably love the color, but I just haven’t incorporated that liking deep into my wardrobe psyche yet. Thus, wearing this hue today was a bit risky for me.

I got the button on my shirt from our honeymoon trip to Poconos. (No, we didn’t get a room with the champagne glass hot tub.) Adding a button on your garment, purse, or hat adds diversity to any outfit. Just don’t overdo it.

I’ve also compiled some pretty paraphernalia for the purple lovers out there. Some of them are reasonably priced.

    Cute! Love your shoes…again!

P.S. That comment in my last post wasn’t necessarily directed to the comments on ET. I get those comments a lot. What surprises me is that the ones who DO judge me harshly for what I deem modest or those who are very aware of God and seem close to Him. I guess they haven’t fully pondered Matthew 7:4.

    Thanks, Elaine!

Right. That passage points out that nobody has the right to judge because truthfully, we are imperfect and fall short of God’s glory (Rom 3:23).

Standards of modesty differ everywhere. Because we are representing modesty through our blogs publicly, it’s expected that comments like that will come up. We do not cover our hair, and to some, that is a display of sexuality. We just can’t please everyone, but what we can do is to serve God through the way we dress.

Thanks, Sandy! I know. I don’t even own a pair of gladiator inspired shoes. It’s in my wish list this spring.
